  • About Us

Blue Ocean Aquatics (BOA) is a family-friendly, competitive swimming club operating from Creston College on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. We aim to promote swimming, in an atmosphere where all swimmers can experience the fun of competition and strive to achieve their personal best. We seek to nurture team collaboration, squad cohesion and good sportsmanship.

We have three squads that range from swimming improvement to competitive swimming. Our swimmers range in age from age five to late teenagers, all of whom are expected to compete in various meets at their own ability level throughout the swimming year. We host in-house club meets and our advanced swimmers compete in District, Regional and National championships.

Blue Ocean Aquatics is an affiliated member of KwaZulu-Natal Aquatics & Swimming South Africa, and an accredited Learn To Swim centre.

Registration Number: C/GAU/2004/0000316

Swim Coach

Mandy Koegelenberg

Our qualified and vastly experienced coach, Mandy Koegelenberg, works with all the swimmers on technique, speed and endurance to help them achieve their maximum potential.

Mandy is a swimmer herself and participates in master’s events provincially and nationally. She holds a number of KwaZulu-Natal short course records.

She obtained her Level 4 qualification from ASCA (America Swimming Coaches Association) and has swimmers that have qualified for Senior Nationals, Level 3, Level 2 & Level 1 Nationals.  She also holds qualifications in sports management and personal training.

Club Structure

The club has three squads, and swimmers progress through our squad structure based on ability, attitude and attendance, as decided by our swim coach.

Club Events

Our club hosts in-house meets and social events during the swimming season. Swimmers also compete in district, regional and national events. Check the swim club calendar to keep up to date with all the upcoming events.

Club Kit

Wearing the BOA club kit is an important part of being a squad team member. It’s a great way to identify BOA swimmers and supporters 😉 and helps build a sense of club identity and unity.
